This course focuses on the role of athletic trainers in the public safety setting and more specifically, it highlights how workers’ compensation comes into play. The course will help you identify the role of athletic trainers in this specific setting. Additionally, the course will cover the connection between injury risk-reduction. rehabilitation, and workers’ compensation in the public safety setting. The course will then go on to discuss strategies for communicating value and return on investment to public safety agencies and municipalities. Lastly, the course will cover the challenges that can arise when implementing workers’ compensation systems within tactical and/or public safety settings.
