Course Overview

The purpose of this presentation is to set up to discuss and help achieve a better understanding around lateral ankle sprains: the anatomy, evaluation, and management of these injuries. The course will start with a review of the ligamentous anatomy of the talocrural and subtalar joints of the ankle. It will then cover the evaluation process of a lateral ankle sprain and the chronic ankle instability that can result from recurrent injuries. Finally, the course will cover the management and return to play post-ankle sprain and considerations that must be taken into account.
